Graveside services for Marvin Cypert, 83, of Lorenzo will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Boles officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

He died Tuesday, April 24, 2001.

He was born July 2, 1917, in Quail and attended school in Quail and Old Emma before graduating from Lorenzo High School in 1938. He also attended Texas Tech. He married Vivian Lynette House on July 5, 1946, in Clovis, N.M. She died Feb. 7, 1993.

He served in the Army Air Corps from 1939 to 1945. He was a member of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church and the Emma Masonic Lodge No. 931 in Ralls where he held the titles of Master Mason in 1949 and Worshipful Master in 1954. He farmed in the Lorenzo area until his retirement.

A son, Roger, died March 11, 1997.

Survivors include a son, Randy of Tyler; two daughters, Rhonda Klein of Lubbock and Roxie Powers of Pampa; a sister, Neva Abell of Ralls; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
