Johnnie Lee Hadnot was born in Leggett, Texas, to the late Jimmie Lee Criswell Cooper and James Austin. She was raised by her stepfather, Jink Cooper, who was a significant part of her life. She attended J.H. Rowe School in Jasper, Texas.

Johnnie met Kirby Hadnot, Jr., and they were married in 1963.

She was a home and childcare provider for many years.

She was a member of the Dixie Baptist Church where she was a Mission Sister and choir member.

Johnnie enjoyed spending time with family, laughing, and joking with her grandkids. She also loved community events and attended when she had the opportunity.

She was preceded in death by her fathers, James Austin and Jink Cooper; mother, Jimmie Lee Cooper; husband, Kirby Hadnot, Jr.; brothers, J.E. Cooper, Jink Cooper, Jr., and J.C. Cooper; and sister, Frankie Smart.

Johnnie leaves to cherish her loving memory: her children, Dennis (Truman) Austin, Elaine (John) Diggles, and Cassandra Austin Guidry; grandchildren, Trametria (J.T.) Carraway, James Lee Diggles, Jr., and Dustin Austin; brothers, James (Lawana) Cooper, Charles Ray (Jackie) Cooper, and Curtis Ray Cooper; sister, Dorothy Lee Armstrong; six great-grandkids; three bonus children, Kelsey, Jeffrey, and Walker Ann Wilson; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends
