Long Friendship Is Culminated In Marriage Of Aged

Washington, April 28. A friendship that dated back many years blossomed yesterday into the marriage of Julien Wood, 72, Edenton. N. C., banker and former state highway commissioner, and Miss Mary L. Anderson, 65, of New York. After their marriage at Washington cathedral, the couple left on a New York honeymoon. They will make their home in Edenton in June.

Wood knew Miss Anderson when he was a student at the University of North Carolina. At that time she was living in Chapel Hill with her mother.

Wood later married and reared a family.

Mrs. Woods' father was Col. Allen Lathan Anderson, a union army officer in the War Between the States. She was a granddaughter of the late Abraham Rencher of Chatham county, N. C., who represented his state in congress, served as minister to Portugal and was the last appointive territorial governor of New Mexico.
