Marilyn Sue (Briley) Lacy, 83, of Bush, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at her son's home in Hurst.

Sue was born on November 4, 1939 in Benton to Virgil and Lois (Thomason) Briley. She graduated from Benton High School on May 29, 1957 and then graduated from SIU on May 17, 1975 with an associate degree in Art-Physical Therapist Assistant.

Sue loved her family and taking care of them and her boys. She loved to shop and go to the custard stand. Sue had an annual BBQ that she loved inviting her family and loved seeing her family interact with each other and have a good time.

Survivors include her children, Bill Lacy of Hurst; Tom (Rhonda) Lacy of Hurst; Fred (Lorinda) Lacy of Blairsville; sister, Joan Johnson of Lincoln; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeff) Docherty of Christopher, Crystal (Brad) Oxendine of Carterville, Clayton Lacy of Herrin, Levi (Nichole) Lacy of Hurst, Phillip Lacy of DeSoto, Justin (Cortney Jo) Lacy of Onolaska, Texas, and Jordan Lacy of Blairsville; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces, Cindy Whitley and Tammy Heidbreder; nephews, Stephen Johnson and Craig Briley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; great grandchild, Madyson Lacy; brother, Otto Briley; and sister-in-law, Shirley Briley.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside services be at Elder S.M. Williams Cemetery in Ewing, Illinois at a later date. Inurnment will follow.
