He was born May 26, 1934 in Shawnee, OK to Rudyard and Leva Mary (Russell) Coker.
Johnnie was raised in Bethel Acres area, graduating from the Bethel High School class of 1953 followed by attending college in eastern Oklahoma.
He married Billie Irene Lee on May 18, 1956 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Johnnie worked at Tinker AFB for 30 years then retired in 1990. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Tecumseh, OK
Johnnie loved working outside, gardening, golfing, camping, and going for walks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and great grandson, Adriene Ray Moore III
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Billie Coker of the Home; 3 sons, Jay and Candy Coker of Earlsboro, Rann and Darla Coker of Ft Worth, TX and Lee Coker of Piedmont, OK; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and J.D. Lester of Sapulpa and Martha and Darrell Lanier of Moore, OK; 2 brothers and sisters-in law, Jimmie and Pat Coker of Shawnee and Phillip and Doloris Coker of Bethel, OK; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The Family would like to Thank Heartland Hospice and Heritage Nursing care for their excellent car for Johnnie over the last several months.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 and until service time, Wednesday, April 12Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow a New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
