Mrs. Emma A. Knox, 47, Haas Trailer Court, died Thursday in University Hospital, Columbus, after an illness of several months.

Born Oct. 7, 1919, in Ross County, she was the daughter of John and Iva Leach Holton. In 1943, she married Joseph Knox, who died in 1962.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Ruth) Madden of Camden, Ark.; two sons, Edwin Holton, U.S. Army in Texas and James Knox of Columbus; three stepsons, Lawrence, Eugene and Shirley Knox of Route 6; two sisters, Mrs. Elwood (Ellen) Burton of Route 4 and Mrs. Marguerite Swaney of Route 6; three brothers, John and Dewey Holton of Chillicothe, and Glen Holton of Richmond Dale; and 11 grandchildren.

She was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ in Christian Union.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Fawcett Oliver Funeral Home, with the Rev. Morton Liles officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday.
