MATTOON - Mary K. Bradley Kunz, 98, of Mattoon, formerly of Springfield, died at 12:25 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Odd Fellow & Rebecca Home in Mattoon.
She was born May 20, 1909, in Sedalia, Mo., the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Cranshaw Chadwick. She married Leonard Batterton in 1927; they later divorced. She married Max Bradley in 1956; he preceded her in death in 1965. She married Joseph L. Kunz in 1969; he preceded her in death in 1987. A son, Leonard H. Batterton in 1971; and stepdaughter, Peg Daykin, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Kunz retired in 1969 as an inspector from Sangamo Electric Co. after 29 years of service. She was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Mattoon and Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Springfield.
Surviving are two stepsons, Ed (wife, Pat) Kunz of Decatur and Joe Kunz of Springfield; three grandchildren, Shari Batterton Williams, Troy Batterton and Charles "Chuck" Batterton; 10 stepgrandchildren, Karen Rehwinkel of Fenton, Mo., John (wife, Amy) Kunz of Omaha, Neb., Jody Kunz of Wentzville, Mo., Ed (wife, Barb) Kunz of Olathe, Kan., Steven (wife, Lisa) Daykin, Katie (husband, Pat) Flanagan, Sharon Daykin, Kevin (wife, Margaret) Daykin, all of Ohio, Jennifer (husband, Joe) Ryan of Rochester and Sarah Kunz of Springfield; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008, in Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview.
