Betty Jo Arnold Holcomb died, April 6, 2023 at Texoma Health Care Center in Sherman, Texas, at the age of 102 years. She was born in Tom Bean, Texas on June 8, 1920, to William Edmond Arnold and Ida Mae Williams Arnold.

Betty graduated from Tom Bean High School in 1938 and married Travis Holcomb on November 10, 1939 and they celebrated 53 years together before Travis passed in 1992.

A hard-working woman, Betty was a rural carrier for the Sherman Democrat for many years. She and Travis owned and operated a Café in Tom Bean which they later converted to a Grocery Store. She managed the store while Travis operated a Service Station next door. They purchased and maintained several rent houses behind the store and station.

After Travis died Betty moved to Sherman to be closer to her son, Darrell. Seven years ago, she could no longer maintain her daily living and she moved to Texoma Health Care Center.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Myra Lynn and sons, Merle Joe and Roger and daughter-in-law Ruby. She is survived by her son Darrell and wife Rita; grandsons Stuart Holcomb and Gary Holcomb and wife Becky; granddaughter Donna Dudley and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 6-8 PM, at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells, Texas with graveside services 10:00AM Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Vittitoe Cemetery, Whitewright, Texas. Rev. Bill Neal will officiate.
