FORT ASHBY, WEST VIRGINIA -- Elizabeth F. Arndt, 81, of Fort Ashby, formerly of Springfield, W.Va., died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 at the Dawnview Center.

Born Oct. 3, 1930 in West Wilmerding, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alvin Harley Fraze and Matilde (Vorhoff) Fraze. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard P. Arndt; and two sisters, Mary Louise Halsey and Alva Regina Kight.

Mrs. Arndt was Catholic by faith. She belonged to the Friends of the Library and the Ice Mountain Writers.

Survivors include her son, John B. Arndt; a grandson, Ryan Bourez; and several nieces and nephews.

As per her wish, Mrs. Arndt was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date, with burial in Quantico National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Volunteer Fire Departrment, Springfield, WV 26763. The Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Fort Ashby, is in charge of arrangements.
