Mr. Atkinson was born February 29, 1864, at the old family home, two miles west of Oxford, and was a son of Robert M. and Nancy McClimans Atkinson. He spent his entire life in this locality.
For 40 years he was a farmer and s tock-raider on his farm near Atkinson Station and for the past few years he resided in Oxford.
He was married 38 years ago to Mary C. Kennedy.
Surviving are the widow, a son, Robert M.; three brothers, Wilbert, of Indianapolis; David of Chicago, and Curtis. of Council Bluffs, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Alice For-sythe, Indianapolis; and two half-sisters. Mrs. Cynthia Runner and Mrs. Sarah McKelvey, of Oxford.
He was a member of St. Patrick's church.
