Jim was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Mary E. (Grygo) and Joseph S. Oller.
He graduated from St. Matthew's grade school, Salesianum School in 1955 and Goldey Beacom College in 1957. He owned and operated Franklin News and served 11 years in the Delaware Army National Guard. Jim retired as a paymaster for the Delaware Turnpike after 20 years. He was a member of St. Matthew's and St. John the Beloved parishes.
His wife Florence M. (Dobraniecki) Oller passed away in 2006.
Jim and Florence enjoyed the life of horse owners. Jim owned harness horses and Florence owned and bred thoroughbreds. Jim enjoyed going to Delaware Park and was an avid bowler. He supported both the Eagles and the Phillies.
Jim is survived by his brothers and their wives, Joseph and Sue Oller of Wilmington, Michael and Diane Oller of Wilmington and Samuel and Kathleen Oller of Pike Creek; his sister, Mary Ann Walls of Newark and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at St. Matthew's Church, 901 East Newport Pike, Wilmington on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM.
Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
