Clara Mae (Strubelt) Stephenson (Aunt Clara as she was known by all that knew her, both old and young), passed away July 5, 1967, at the age of 92 years, at the home of her daughter, Winnifred Hein, with whom she has made her home in Basehor, Kansas for the past 8 years.

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, Febuary 3, 1875, the daughter of Frank and Mary Strubelt. She had lived in Leavenworth County for the past 80 years. On September 20, 1892, she was united in marriage to Charles H. Stephenson who preceded her in death on November 11, 1928.

She was a lifelong member of the Basehor Methodist Church and a Charter Member of the Woman's Society Of Christian Service in which she was given a "Special Membership". Also for several years she was President of the "Ladies Aid Society", and served as an active Steward in the "Horse and Buggy Days", when the Officers of the church worked faithfully and spent much time to meet the church finances. She was an active and attendant member of the Church as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by her daughter, Winnifred Hein, Basehor, Kansas; 2 grandchildren, Robert William Hein and Pauline Elizabeth (Hein) Nance; and 5 great grandchildren, Charles Nance, Joyce Nance, Linda Hein, Carolee Hein, and Sandra Hein.
