..His T.H. Obit revealed: "…After graduating from Dubuque Senior High in 1936, he traveled as a trombonist with the Ray Alderson Orchestra. Many will remember Jules as a hardworking Real Estate broker who always treated his clients fairly. Others will remember him as a member of the Dubuque Water Ski Club, where he was known as "The King" because of the medals and trophies he won in his years of competitive skiing. When Jules "retired" at 65, he traded his water skis for a bicycle, again winning many medals. He loved the sport and the camaraderie of his fellow bicyclists. Over the next 24 years, Jules logged 144,201 pedal-powered miles. He met his goal of 10,000 miles in one year for the first of three times in 1992. For that accomplishment, at the age of 75, Jules was honored by the Iowa House of Representatives with a certificate of recognition. Still, other area residents will remember him as host/producer of "The Rich Years," a component of his part-time job as the Community Information Coordinator at Scenic Valley Area Agency on Aging…"
