Julia Blake, 100 of Ramah, CO passed away on May 02, 2008 at the Simla Good Samaritan Care Center in Simla, CO.

Julia was born on July 2, 1907 in Ramah, CO to George and Eve Leischuck one of six children. She attended school through the 8th grade.

Julia married Joseph Blake in 1926 and they were blessed with three children.

Julia spoke two languages Slovak and English, she read her bible in Slovak and spoke to her siblings in Slovak. She was a hard worker, laboring in the fields and providing for her families needs in the house. Julia enjoyed crocheting, embroidering in her spare time but she was known for her cooking. She loved to bake cookies and give them away to everyone in the neighborhood.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, two sisters and an infant daughter.

Julia is survived by her sons Jim and his wife Muriel Blake of Aurora, CO and Bob and his wife Ileta Blake of Simla, CO. She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A funeral service for Julia will be held on Wednesday, May 07, 2008, 10 A.M. at the St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Calhan, CO with burial to follow at the Ramah Cemetery.
