Mary Jane Wainscott, 79, of Frankfort, Indiana died Wednesday, March 5, 2008.

Born June 23, 1928, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar S. and Helen Hornback Baird. She was a graduate of Monticello High School and studied nursing at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.

She married Wayne Edwin Wainscott on Dec. 24, 1947, in Frankfort, and he survives.

She was a homemaker and also worked with her husband in the family business, Wainscott TV and Appliances. Mrs. Wainscott was a member of First Baptist Church in Frankfort.

She enjoyed genealogy, history, the Indianapolis Colts and Phoenix Suns, traveling, gardening and nature. Her interests included the loving support of her family and the education of her children and grandchildren. She loved traveling with her husband, she had many happy trips with him including a hot air balloon ride over the Grand Canyon. She was a terrific travel companion.

Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Teresa Wainscott and Jayne Wainscott Stommel (husband: Robert), three sons, Denny Wainscott (wife: Carol), Edwin Wainscott (wife: Kathy) and Samuel Wainscott (wife: Barbara) and a sister, Beverly Bunnell (husband: Don), 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, David Michael Baird.
