When she wasn't working, Sylvia spent many of her years traveling with her best friends, Martha and Nick Battaglia, when her husband was alive. They loved the mountains and seeing the beautiful bluebonnets of Texas.

Sylvia loved her home. She built a home where she was surrounded by family and where she had the privilege of seeing her grandkids grow up. They visited her almost everyday.
