YOUNG FARMER DIES AT LOCAL HOSPITAL

Vane Moody, aged 28 years, who has lived some 14 miles northwest of Tulia died at the local hospital last Wednesday following an illness and operation for appendicitis. The operation was delayed too long and he was unable to overcome the poison which had filled his system.

Funeral services were conducted at the local Baptist Church of which he was a member, last Thursday by Rev. E. R. Stiles in the absence of the pastor, A. C. Huff, who had just returned home from the hospital suffering from an attack of the flu.

After the funeral services his body was buried in the local cemetery, by the side of his father, Whit Moody, who preceded him some few months.

Vane A Moody was born November 28th, 1900 in Lincoln Co. Ky. He came with his parents at the tender age of eighteen months to Tulia, Swisher Co. Texas, where he spent his entire life.

He was married August 19th, 1926 to Miss Myrtle Todd. One daughter, Violet Marie, was born to this union, a dear little girl now four years old.

Vane was converted in the year 1923 and united with the First Baptist Church of Tulia of which he was a member until death called him home. Wednesday, January 23, 1929 in the Tulia Sanitarium. He took sick on Friday January 18, and everything that kind and loving relatives could do was done, but Jesus said "Come on up to heaven, your work here is finished."

The wife and daughter have lost a kind, loving husband and father, the mother a veery dutiful son, the brother, a very close companion, the Childress community a thoughtful neighbor and friend.

He leaves to mourn his going his wife, daughter, mother, one brother and two half brothers, and a host of relatives and friends.
