Mrs. Patsy Imojean Parker Johnson, age 91, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the SECU Hospice House.
Mrs. Johnson was born on October 10, 1931, in Smithfield, NC to the late Joseph B. and Mattie W. Parker.
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, sisters, Mary King, Ruby Kimball, Iris Singley, and Mattie Lee Newman; brothers, Dennis Parker, J.B. Parker, Elmer Parker, and Wilson Parker, her first child Joseph Johnson and a grandson, Jacob Whaley.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Dennis Johnson, her children, H.M. Johnson and wife Sherry, Max Johnson and wife Faye, Amanda Whaley, and husband Roby; grandchildren, Chad Johnson, Josh Johnson and wife Lindsay, Myra Parker and husband John, Perry Johnson and wife Kelley, Aubrey Whaley and Emma Grace Whaley; great-grandchildren, MaKenna Johnson, Alaina Johnson, Will Parker, Woods Parker, and Warren Johnson.
Receiving of family and friends will take place from 6 till 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at West & Dunn Funeral Home, Newton Grove, and other times at her home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on April 3, 2023, at Antioch United Methodist Church, Hwy. 701 S. Four Oaks. Rev. Walter Gaskins and Rev. Rodney Raby will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 2 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at West and Dunn Funeral Home in Newton Grove. The family would like to express their gratitude to each caregiver at the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. Their kindness and compassion was extended to all of us for the past six weeks. In addition, a special thanks to all the family caregivers. Flowers are welcome, however, memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice House, P.O. Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.
