Jo (Anna Josephine) Holle passed away Thursday morning, March 30, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur.

She was born August 3, 1919, in Lagrange Indiana to Byrl (Marks) and Norman Dodge. She was named after her two grandmothers Anna (Bushong) Marks and Josephine (Loomis) Dodge. Her father worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad so Jo was raised in various towns in Indiana and Ohio. She graduated from Hamilton (Ohio) High School in 1937 and then Butler County Business School. Jo joined the U S Navy and served as a Yeoman during World War II in Washington DC.

She met her future husband Walter Holle in 1938 when they both worked at Schafer Hardware Company in Decatur Indiana. They were married after serving in World War II.

Jo and Walt raised their family in Fort Wayne and Woodburn Indiana. After retirement, they spent the next twenty years in sunny Gainesville Florida enjoying travel and visiting many places worldwide.

She has been a resident of Woodcrest Retirement Community in Decatur since 2003. Her husband, Walt passed away in 2005.

Jo is survived by sons, Steve of Garrett, Indiana, and John (Judy) of Vero Beach, Florida, grandchildren Scott (Ximena) Holle of Marysville, Ohio, Karen (David) Payne of New Albany, Ohio, and Brooke (Aaron) Comber of Jensen Beach, Florida; eight great-grandchildren; and her friend, Maurine Holle.

In honoring Jo's wishes, no services will be held.
