Mr. Hawkins died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at the Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Jan. 19, 1918, in Aurora, Mo., the son of Fred and Nettie Tettenborst Hawkins.
Mr. Hawkins served in the U.S. Air Force from 1941 to 1945. He was a batboy for the Boeing Bombers In the early 1950s. He worked for Boeing Aircraft for 42 years and retired in January 1980. He was a charter member of Southwest Presbyterian Church and a member of the Kansas Peace Officers Association.
He married Betty Anderson on July 10, 1945, in Dodge City. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Susan Seay, Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
