Mrs. Rachel McDonald

Mrs. Rachel McDonald, aged about 75, died at the home of her son Arch McDonald in Chillicothe, Ohio., Friday evening, December 19, She was the widow of Hiram McDonald a veteran of the civil war who died many years ago. About a week before her death, while on a visit at the home of her son George at Chauncey, she fell and incurred severe injuries which led to her death. For many years she was a resident of the Vinton Chapel neighborhood in this county, but of late years has lived with her children. Last Friday she was brought from Chauncey to the home of her son Arch in Chillicothe, but lived only a few hours after her arrival. She leaves six sons, Arch, George, Charles, Floyd, Alva and Thomas, and two daughters, Lura and Anna, both married.

FUNERAL OF MRS. MCDONALD

The Funeral of Mrs. Rachel McDonald who died at the home of her son, Arch McDonald in Chillicothe, December 19, was held at the M. E. church, McArthur, at 2:00 p. m. Monday, December 22, Rev. Gibbs of the U. B. church officiating. The fall which she got by accident while spending a week at home of her son George at Chauncey, led to her death which occurred a few hours after her arrival at the home of her son Arch where she had been brought in Tinker's ambulance. She leaves six sons, George and Floyd of Chauncey, Alva of Frankfort, Ohio. Charles and Arch of Chillicothe, Ohio and Thomas of McBeth, W. Va. three daughter, Mrs. Leonard Leach of Wellston, Ohio., Route # 3. Mrs. Stella Rider, Athens, Ohio. Burial was in Elk Cemetery, McAthur, Ohio. W. W. Tinker Funeral Director. (Obit was written in the Democrat-Enquirer Wednesday December 31, 1930).
