Josie was the daughter of Leon M. "Pop" Williams Sr and Amanda "Mom" Cain Williams. She was a member of The Williams Family Singers.

Services were held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 1PM in the Sanctuary of Rose Hill Missionart Baptist Church in Smithdale, Mississippi with Pastor Oliver W. Smith Officiating.
