James "Jim" Otto Krause, 79, of Bartonville, passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

He was born on August 9, 1943, in Peoria, the son of Otto and Mae (Birdoes) Krause. He married Iloe Marie Welte on August 20, 1966, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2018.

Surviving are his children, Troy (Lori) Krause, Ryan (Susie) Krause, Rhonda (Troy) Unkrich, and Delisa (Nick) Biggs; and sisters, Barb (Merle) Allen, and Delores McCaddon.

Jim was a graduate of Spalding Institute. He was employed by Keystone Steel and Wire Company for 42 years retiring in 2004. He was a Hollis Township Trustee, and Supervisor, and a dedicated member of the Tuscarora Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief for 20 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 979, and Little Swan Lake Association. He had a great passion for motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.

Private entombment will take place at Resurrection Mausoleum on Monday.
