David George Cox is the son of Fred David Cox and Marina 'Annie' Ruth Ann (Brazeal) Cox.

David G. Cox was born Jan. 4, 1912 at Thayer, MO, the son of Fred Cox and Anna Brazeal Cox. He died Feb. 27, 2008 in Salem, AR, at the age of 96. He was united in marriage March 4, 1939, at Thayer, MO, to Mattie M. Hallock, who preceded him in death April 9, 1994.
He was a farmer and also owned and operated a feed store in Mammoth Spring for several years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mammoth Spring.
He is survived by one daughter, Aleta Davene Brooks and husband, Bill of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Gardner Cox of Mammoth Spring; one sister, Vitress Cantrell of Anchorage, AK; several nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James David Cox; one brother, Paul Cox; and three sisters, Lura McCormick, Ruth Aggans and Verla Stanley.
Graveside services were March 1 at the Arytown Cemetery near Thayer with Rev. Jim Lemmonds officiating. Burial followed the services at the Arytown Cemetery with arrangements being under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
