Funeral services for Paul Ray Rogers, 68, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Seth Ward Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Rogers died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at VistaCare of Lubbock. He was born April 17, 1939, in Campwood to the late Richard Raymond Rogers and the late Bessie Whipkey. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-63. He married Virginia Lea Bybee on March 7, 1961, in Plainview. He worked for Ring Around Seed, Pioneer Seed, the House of Ceramics from 1987-94 and Plainview Apartments from 1995 until his retirement in 2002. He was a partner in TV Corner of Plainview. He was a member of Belles N Beaux Square Dance Club. He worked with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, PTA and the Plainview Band Boosters throughout his children's school years.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Rogers of Plainview; one son, Jackie Ray Rogers of Plainview; one daughter and son-in-law, Susanne and Carl Wampler of Lubbock; one sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Gerald Burch of Whitney; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Andrew Ray Rogers of Amarillo, Cory Ray Rogers of Plainview, Aaron Wayne Wampler and Philip J. Wampler, both of Lubbock; and his nephews, Rex Slaughter of Shallowater and Don Love of Lubbock.

The family suggests memorials to VistaCare Hospice.
