Ethel Bumbleburg Strader, 76, of Lafayette, died at 4:07 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, at her residence.
Born Aug. 14, 1929, to the late Michael and I. Pearl Mansfield Bumbleburg in Lafayette, she attended St. Francis Grade School and Jefferson High School.
Her marriage was to Robert T. Strader on April 23, 1947, in Lafayette, and he died Jan. 13, 1999.
Mrs. Strader worked in sales at Rapps in Mar-Jean Village from 1973 to 1994.
She was a member of Eagles Lodge 347 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 11 Auxiliary and Moose Lodge of Lafayette.
Surviving are her daughters, Angela Windler (husband: Jack) of Lafayette and Beverly Lamb of Fort Wayne.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to 2 p.m. service Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Cindy Geswein officiating. Interment Dayton Cemetery. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who was devoted to her family and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all. Also surviving are a very special niece, Wilma Young of Las Cruces, N.M.; 4 grandchildren, Robert Geswein (wife: Cindy), Andrea Balser, Joel Lamb and Alex Lamb; and 8 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 3 brothers, Paul, George and Vernon Bumbleburg; and 3 sisters, Mary Heick-Smith, Gilberta Young and Patricia Schneider.
