Nevia Ethel Tucker was born Sept. 2, 1918 in Couch, MO, daughter of Joe Honeycutt and Iva Cox Honeycutt. She died Dec. 4, 2007, in West Plains, MO at the age of 89.
She was married March 12, 1926, in Alton, MO, to Olon Tucker who preceded her in death Jan. 11, 2001.
She was of the Protestant faith and a true example of what a homemaker was during the years she raised and cared for her family. She enjoyed her favorite pastime of quilting, gardening, canning and preserving food and earned the title of an excellent cook.
She is survived by: 6 children, Rosalie Wisehart and husband, Joe, Janet Alford and husband, Steve, Carol Grimes and husband, Larry, Mary Kay Shehorn and husband, Marlin, Robert Olon Tucker and wife, Gina and Joe Dan Tucker and wife, Carrie; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Otto Honeycutt and wife Grace; 2 sisters, Neva DeVault and Neta Frase; one sister-in-law, Maxine Hackett; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Olon; one son, Richard Tucker; and one brother, Roscoe Honeycutt.
Funeral services were held Dec. 7 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Honeycutt officiating. Burial was in the New Salem Cemetery near Couch, MO with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
