Lillian Ruth Gaston, 89 of Princeton, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. She was born August 18, 1922 in Princeton to George and Tillie (Kruse) Burns. She was a member of the VFW Aux., American Legion Aux., and the DAV. She loved playing cards and was in a Euchre Club and a Halsey Club. In years past, when in Florida for the winter, she was a member of the Bradenton Shuffleboard Club.

She was a caregiver to many. Although she had no children of her own, she was blessed with siblings who shared their children and grandchildren with her and she in turn treated them like her own.

Ruth is survived by 3 sisters Betty Lynch of Patoka, Marjorie Sloan of Phoenix, AZ, and Wilma Ikerd of Indianapolis; 5 sisters-in-law Louise Burns, Mary Lois Burns, Marie Burns, Frances Burns, and Frances "Tody" Hartwell; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver Linda Kell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Bill Beard in 1969; second husband Maurice "Much" Gaston in 1990; 8 brothers John, Fred, Charles, Harold, Kenneth, Glenn, Gene, and Edd Burns; and 1 sister Marie Bilderback.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Colvin Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Cook officiating. Burial will be at the Francisco Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m. on Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice. Envelopes will be available at Colvin Funeral Home.
