One of Ballardvale's oldest residents, Mrs. Jennie S. Mears of Center Street, died Wednesday evening, November 10, after a lingering illness. The widow of Nathan Mears, she was in her 84th year at the time of her death.
Her three sons, Louis, Elmer and Clyde; a daughter, Alice C., wife of Henry Touchette of Lawrence; a sister, Mrs. Nellie B. Mott of Andover; and three grandchildren, survive her.
The Rev. Philip M. Kelsey, pastor of the Union Congregational church, of which she was a member, conducted the funeral services Saturday afternoon, November 13, at the Lundgren funeral home.
Burial was in Spring Grove cemetery where the Rev. Mr. Kelsey conducted the committal services. The bearers were: Lewis N. Elmer B., and Clyde E. Mears, all sons of the deceased, and a grandson, Robert Mears.
