Maudie Pearl Blackman, 88, of Combine, TX went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2023, at home. Maudie was born on January 21, 1935, to Melvin and Mary Dickerson in Seagoville, TX. She graduated from Seagoville High School and lived her whole life in the area. On July 5, 1952, she married Steve Blackman and they were together for a loving 49 years before he passed away in 2001. Maudie worked for the Ramsey Insurance Company in Seagoville for 40 years before she retired. She enjoyed reading and listening to music, mostly country. Her most precious time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. If you went to her house, you would definitely be offered a tea-coke while watching wheel of fortune or the Dallas Cowboys. She was a great cook but definitely could never tell you the recipe, it was always a little bit of this and a little bit of that. She was known for her famous apricot fried pies. She loved Christmas time and being able to decorate the deer with ornaments to make all the grandkids smile. Maudie was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister. Her parents Melvin and Mary, husband Steve, and siblings Bill Dickerson and Joann Bruce preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory are daughters: Rhonda Wood and fiancée Red Oliver and Tracie Crittenden and husband Steve; grandchildren: Brad Wood and wife Leigh, Amber Parker and husband Alex, Jordan Crittenden and wife Candra, Kyle Crittenden, Ashton Womack and husband Corey and Tyler Hitt; great grandchildren: Chase, Trevor, Tessa, Brynlee, Kallen, Joedyn, Teagan, Beckham and another one on the way by Tyler; sisters Mary Alice Grimes and Lucy Clark; numerous extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
