Harvey Dan Orr, 80, departed from this life on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at his home in Bruce, MS. He was born on February 19, 1943, in Calhoun County to the late J.C. Orr and Ollie Connor Orr.
Harvey spent many seasons of life as a factory worker owning his own frame shop, J and H Woodworking. In his spare time you could find him out in the woods coon hunting. Harvey enjoyed watching Football and NASCAR and he also enjoyed politics. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife, Annette Hendrix Orr of Bruce, MS; two daughters: Teresa (Mike) Griffin of Banner, MS; Judy (Bill) Adams of Brandon, MS; son, Danny (Donna) Orr of Bruce, MS; two sisters: Ruth Hodges of Calhoun City; Bonnie Sue Doler of Calhoun City; seven grandchildren: Michael Griffin Jr, Casey Griffin, Alyssa Griffin, Aidan Adams, Jessica Orr, Anna Orr, and Dillon Orr. He also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, J.C. Orr and Ollie Connor Orr; two sisters: Opel Howell; Elouise McFall; brother, J.C. Orr Jr.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. The funeral service celebrating Harvey's life will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Brown officiating. Aidan Adams, Bill Adams, Wayne Doler, Casey Griffin, Michael Griffin Jr., and Donny Orr will carry Harvey to rest in Pinecrest Memorial Garden. Dillon Orr and Earl Wayne Stone will serve as honorary pallbearers.
