Kerry Dale "Chief" Adams, age 69, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, in Olney, Texas. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Sulpher Springs, Texas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Kerry was born on April 7, 1953, in Miami, Oklahoma. He was a proud member of the Chippewa Tribe of White Earth Reservation in Minnesota. Kerry had served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He moved from Comanche, Texas to Young County in 1963 and had worked as a derrick hand in the oilfield. He was a very hard worker and would do anything for anybody. He was known as "Bubba" to his family and friends. Kerry was a huge Washington Redskins fan.
Kerry was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Homer "Jack" Adams and Alma (Lynch) Adams, and a niece, Heather Robinson.
He is survived by one sister, Jackie Robinson of Sulpher Springs, Texas; one nephew, Joe McCormick of Sulpher Springs, Texas; two nieces, Lindsay Barton of Sulpher Springs, Texas and Namasteˈ Wyre of Royce City, Texas; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
