JOE BAILEY COTNER, born in Nevada, Texas on Nov 10, 1920, to Joseph and Alice Cotner. Joe grew up on the family farm. Later, Joe proudly served as a US Army Medic in Patton's Tenth Armored Division. He met Beatrice Steadham at a baseball game in Dallas. They soon fell in love and married Feb 21, 1947. They settled in Garland in 1949, where he and Bea raised two daughters Jodi and Penelope. Joe wore many hats but was very proud to serve as Garland's fourth letter carrier and was still number four when he retired in Dec 1978. He then started his own lawn care business finally retiring at the age of 90. Joe passed Thursday night in his home surrounded by family and friends.
