"1866 was a bad year. Especially during the winter. My daughter Thursa Ann died. She was taken sick with worm convulsions in the night and died the next afternoon. I had had rheumatic fever for 2 or 3 months. My joints hurt so much they could not move very much on a blanket but I peeled pine poles for Thursa's grave-site then joined them together. We decide to move back to Richmond, Utah."
