Susan Eleanor (Benson) Doig, age 86, died on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Center in Clifton Park.

Susan was born on May 8, 1936 in Syracuse, NY and was the daughter of the late James Arthur and Gladys (Manning) Benson.

Susan was a student at Onondaga Valley Academy in Syracuse and following graduation attended Cornell University where she earned her bachelor's in nursing.

Susan worked as a Public Health Nurse during the early part of her career, finishing her career in health care as the Health and Handicap Coordinator for Schenectady County Headstart.

Susan enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband Herb, traveling throughout the American West, visiting Disney World as well as reading. What she enjoyed most though was time spent with her family – both human and canine.

Susan is survived by her wonderful children Julie L. (Jeffrey) Doig-McPeek, Geoffrey (Jim Cullen) Doig-Marx, Amy S. (Thomas) Doig-Cullen, Scott R. (Jennifer Patrick-Doig) Doig and James C. (Anny Vershary-Doig) Doig; her dear brother James D. (Kathy) Benson and twelve adoring grandchildren Brenna, Shannon and Kiley, Ryan, Meghan and Kevin, Addeline and Emalynn, and Junia, Mackenzie, Garrett and Brodie, as well as several grand-fur babies.

Along with her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert E. Doig.
