* Daniel was b. 1792 in Maryland, the son of Tilghman and Mary (McNamee) Baker of Washington County, Maryland (then later, Fairfield, Ohio).
* In his late teens, Daniel immigrated to Ohio where he joined the military. He was an Ohio veteran of the War of 1812 from which he received a Land Bounty.
* After being discharged from military service, Daniel married Mary McNamee (his 2nd cousin) on 23 Dec 1813 in Fairfield, Fairfield Co, Ohio.
* Daniel's 1830 US census of Hocking, Fairfield, Ohio shows a family of 12. His 1850 US census of Richland, Fairfield, Ohio shows the names of 2 children [dad Daniel Baker (58) mom Mary (55) kids: Sarah (22) & Amos (20)]
* Daniel's death was recorded 5 years later in Rushville, Fairfield County, Ohio. His grave is recorded in "Ohio, U.S., Soldier Grave Registrations, 1804-1958"
