Robert G. Quayle, 66, formerly of Geneseo, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at his home in Bethel, Conn.

His body will be cremated and inurnment will be in Bishop Hill Cemetery.

The son of Virgil and Flossie Quayle, he was born March 30, 1937, in Galva. He was a 1955 graduate of Geneseo High School. He attended Iowa State University and upon graduation was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as a Marine aviator for six years. After transferring his service to the U.S. Coast Guard, he joined Eastern Airlines, where he served as a pilot on domestic and international flights for 18 years.

He is survived by sons, Randy Quayle, Duvall, Wash., and Brian Quayle, Lancaster, Calif.; daughter, Jennifer Joyce, Beaufort, S.C.; stepchildren, Mark Karas, Boston, Mass., and Pamela Karas, Bethel, Conn.; six grandchildren; sisters, Imogene Squires, Aberdeen, Md., and Donna Gotthardt, Geneseo; and a brother, William Quayle, Emporia, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Merwin Quayle, Geneseo, and Ivan Quayle, Rocky Mount, N.C.
