Dorothy leaves to celebrate her life two daughters Sharon (Sherry) Marie Stevens (Richard) and Theresa (Terry) Suzann Schweikert; four grandchildren Colleen, Mark (Michi), Troy (Juliet), and Kari (Andrew); nine great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, William R Schweikert, her son Michael J Schweikert; her parents; two sisters Marcella Diederich and Dolores Allen; and her brother Bernard Assell Jr.
Dorothy, a loving homemaker, spent many years volunteering at St. John's/Mercy hospital and was a beloved member of the choir at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was actively involved in many charity volunteer groups and was an admired baker, cook, knitter, gardener, and plant whisperer. Dorothy's recipes will be shared amongst family and friends for years to come. She loved to be with people and was always up for a good game of cards. Dorothy deeply loved her family and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home & Cremation of Wildwood, Florida.
Funeral mass will be at St. Anne's Catholic Church of Oswego, Illinois, June 5, 2021.
Burial will be in the family plot immediately following at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Naperville, Illinois.
