With sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother on April 25, 2014 at the TBRHSC at the age of 96.
She was born in Vancouver, BC to Carl and Ida Miller and as a young child she moved to O'Connor Township where she grew up and married Harold Gonyou in 1935.
She resided at Lakehead Manor for the past 15 years. She was of Lutheran faith and a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Her main interests were her family and close relationships she developed at Lakehead Manor. She also loved to crochet, knit, play bingo and take part in many different activities at her residence.
She is survived by her sons Gordon (Viola) and Edward (Joyce); grandchildren Yvonne (Jim) Corbett of O'Kanagan Falls, BC, Cheryl (Dan) Forester of Thunder Bay, Brandon Gonyou of Calgary, AB, Dawn Vaillant (Roy Mendyk), Bobbi-Jo (Joe) Phillips and Alison Gonyou (Adrian Armstrong); as well as nieces Dawn Ann (Nels), Jeannie (Steve) and nephew Peter Miller all from BC.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold, parents, a son and daughter at birth, siblings Gilbert, Charlie and Harold Miller all of BC and grandson Daniel (stillborn).
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2820 Donald Street East, on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Tim Barone.
Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens following the reception.
