Matthew R. Abbott, 52, of Rome, NY; passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the VA Hospital in Syracuse, NY. He was born in Rome, NY on November 6, 1970 to the late Raymond P. and Sandra L. Smith Abbott.
Matthew served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He liked to read, play video games and especially enjoyed Mountain Dew. He had quite the sense of humor.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, his grandparents, Robert and Maude; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Matthew is survived by his daughter, Samantha Abbott; his sisters, Michelle and Melissa (Herb) Rogers; brothers, Michael Abbott and Mark Abbott; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be celebrated at a time to be announced in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Camden, NY. Arrangements are in care of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, Camden, NY.
