Verda Hamilton
Services for Verda Hamilton were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, July 3 in Coder Funeral Chapel in La Belle, the Rev. Floyd Hamilton conducting. Music was provided by Mrs. Earl N. Haldeman. Casket bearers were; Bill Hamilton, Reynold William Loesch, Dean Wood, Kent Myers, James Fishback and Lester Walker. Burial was in the La Belle Cemetery.
Mrs. Verda Hamilton, 89, of La Belle, died at 4:30 a. m. Friday (July 1, 1983) in Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville.
She was born Sept. 1, 1893, in New Boston, IA., a daughter of Daniel Ayrers Gilbert and Mary Ellen (Wilsey) Hancock. She married William J. Hamilton Jr., Mar. 18, 1916, in Fort Madison, IA. They moved to La Belle in 1919 where he founded the Hamilton Motor Company. He died Nov. 30, 1961.
Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the La Belle Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Ayers of La Belle; a daughter, Mrs. Reynold (Ethyl Virginia) Loesch of Inglewood, Colo.; a brother, Leon Hancock of Garrison, TX.; four grandchildren, Bill Hamilton, La Belle, Mrs. Joleen Wood, Lansing, Ill., Mrs. Marlene Myers, Knox City, and Reynold William Loesch, Pueblo, Colo.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters and a grandchild.
