Wesley Shubert, 88, passed away at his home Sunday, March 12, 2023. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in McAdams Cemetery at Possum Kingdom Lake.
Wesley was born May 26, 1934 in Boswell, Oklahoma to the late Alta Jewel (Sebers) Shubert and William David Shubert. Wesley attended school in Brad, Texas. He married Helen Kathryn Truesdell May 4, 1957 in Mineral Wells, Texas. Wesley was the owner and operator of Shubert's Cedar Post Yard. Wesley loved his family more than anything and loved having a house full of kids and family. He loved Christmas and Easter and loved going to the casino, playing dominoes with his friends, the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed the simple things in life the most.
Survivors include; wife, Kathryn Shubert of Graham; daughters, Judy Fowler and husband John of Brownsville, Leanna Isbell and husband Billy of Graham, Kathy Riggins and husband Don of Graham; sons, Wesley (Dink) Shubert and wife Lisa of Abilene, James Shubert of Graham; sister, Francis Bass of Paradise; grandchildren, Wesley Shubert (Chrissy), January Cohn (Herb), J.D. Fowler, Justin Shubert (Kim), Alicia Malorie Smith (Alton), Preston Isbell (Samantha), Hayley Galloway (Troy), Peyton Isbell (Lilly), Jake Fowler (Tiffany), Joe Fowler (Xime), Dayton Riggins, Kathryn Riggins, Gracee Shubert (Grant), and Hannah Isbell; nineteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Wesley was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers, and a granddaughter, Jessica Fowler, a great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
