Mr. Landreth was a native of Stokes County, N.C. and a resident of Newport News for the past 27 years.
He was a member of Kings Memorial Baptist Church, Leaksville, N.C. and a retired plumber. He was a member of the Plumber and Steamfitters Union, Local No. 540.
Surviving are his wife, Grace A. Landreth; three daughters, Mrs. John W. Wright of Newport News, Mrs. John P. Elder, of Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. James Reese of Sunnyvale, Calif.; son, Joseph F. Landreth Jr., of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. C. M. Stultz, Draper, N. C., Mrs. Lewis Neal, Stoveville, NC., Mrs. M. MacLaughlin of Jackson, Miss.; brother, W. C. Landreth, Leaksville, N.C. and nine grandchildren.
The body is at the Peninsula Funeral Home.
