Patricia, a woman of faith, spent her life in service to others as the wife of a minister, speaker and author to women's groups, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She met the love of her life and husband of 54 years, Walter Donald Wellman, at Olivet Nazarene University. They were married on December 28th, 1949, and began a life together in service to others through ministry. Some special places they served were Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Eugene, Oregon, Denver, Colorado and Lakeland, Florida. Lovingly called "Sweetie" by her grandchildren, she will be remembered for her quick wit, sassy personality, and devotion to her family.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Jessie, husband Walter Donald Wellman, and brothers Kenneth and Clifford. She is survived by her son Walter Donald Wellman, Jr. and wife, Nola, her daughter Susan Campbell; grandchildren Ryan Wellman and wife Solange, Stacy Formby, Wendy Sinnema and husband Lawren, Shari Gateley and husband Joshua, David Gill and wife Brittany, and Shannon Campbell; great-grandchildren Jack, Brendan, Vince, Griffin, Colin, Jordan, Hank, Ryker, Eloise, Jonah, Charlotte, and Madeline.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on March 16 in the chapel at Mercer-Adams. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers can be made to Tulakes Neighborhood Ministries at www.tulakes.org.
