OBITUARY: "Mary Ann (Gunther) Wareham TEWKSBURY, Mass. Mary Ann (Gunther) Wareham, 70, a well-known and active senior in Tewksbury, Mass., died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell, Mass. She was the wife of William A. Wareham Sr., with whom she would have celebrated a 29th wedding anniversary this Aug. 2. Born on Sept. 9, 1931, in Granville, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Gunther. She was raised in Granville, and lived in Burlington, Vt., before moving to Tewksbury in 1979. She received her bachelor's degree from Green Mountain College in Vermont and later earned her master's in Education from Castleton College in Vermont. She also attend Adirondack Community College in Queensbury. Mrs. Wareham worked for Catholic Charities in Boston as a fund-raiser for more than 19 years. Upon retirement, she used her considerable talents in fund-raising for Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center building fund, and other worthy projects in town. She was the principle organizer for Golf Connection, the annual Tewksbury Senior Golf outing, and the annual Senior Auction in Tewksbury. She also brought the "Tree of Life" to the Senior Drop-In Center. Earlier, she worked with the group that funded and erected the children's playground at the Livingston Street sports complex."
