For many days he had lingered paralyzed. A few days ago he nodded to his adopted daughter, Mrs. W. H. Johnston, to stop down. He then said "I want to go home," she told him that he was at home and he replied "I know that but I want to go to my other home."

At 22 year of age he married Miss Johnie Dickey.
He was converted and joined the church at the age of 18.

Never was a father more devoted to his own child than was Mr. Horton to his adopted daughter, Mrs. W. H. Johnston, and in his last days his years of tenderness was returned in every way possible with a daughter's love.
