Ann was born in Georgetown hospital in Washington D.C. on April 25, 1936 to James Joseph Lawlor and Lucille King Lawlor. In 1947, James retired as a civil engineer for the U.S. Government and moved the family to West Palm Beach, FL. Ann later graduated from Palm Beach High school and went on to attend Palm Beach Junior College as well as Barry University. She also received several advanced degrees from Florida Atlantic University. She then became a teacher and taught at Sacred Heart School and Forest Hill High School. After teaching, she worked as a counselor at Boca Raton High School. Ann then worked as an Assistant Principal at Sun Coast High School, Palm Beach Lakes High School and Howell Watkins Middle School.
In 1979, she married Matthew Scurry they had a most loving marriage for 43 years. She loved her babies Michael, Teresa, Patrick and Andrew as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent several years as a foster mother. Ann was in love with life and people. Her favorite times were spent being with and laughing with her family. She was truly full of life and is now looking down upon us and laughing with her heavenly father.
A visitation for Ann will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral Cremation and Event Center, 754 Us Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Paul of The Cross Parish, 10970 Jack Nicklaus Drive, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A Celebration of Life will occur immediately after the mass in the St. Paul of The Cross Parish hall from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A graveside service will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411.
