Betty was born on Oct. 5, 1937, in Chicago, she was the only daughter of the late Ray and Elisabeth (Parker) Borg.
She married Kenneth G. Henley on July 5, 1957. After living in Rockford; Atlanta, Georgia and Pecatonica, they settled in Rochelle, where she lived for 40 years. She was employed by the Rochelle Elementary School District for much of that time, working as a playground supervisor, lunch lady and "bus driver Betty". She loved her job working with students and even when her health required she quit working, she wished she would get well enough to return.
Betty is survived by her four children, two daughters and their husbands and one son and one daughter-in-law. She was especially proud of her 12 grandchildren and 5 1/2 great-grandchildren.
She loved watching them play sports and participate in other activities. She also enjoyed going to the casino, seeing theatre productions with friends and playing bingo at the Hub City Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ken and her brother, Kenneth Borg.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle from 1 - 3 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice and Home or to the Hub City Senior Center.
