Jack met his wife, Helene, on a blind date and was married shortly after in 1950. They moved to California in 1957 and to Thousand Oaks in 1963. They had two children, David and Carol (Trumpy). He and Helene were founding members of Bethany Baptist Church and Jack weekly attended Living Oaks Church. Jack had been to 48/50 states and the Barr family loved traveling the country, camping at many National Parks in the back of a station wagon, a VW bus, and for the last 30 years, their cherished motorhome.
Jack's sense of humor, quick wit, perfection- ism, quiet demeanor and eagerness to learn more about his Christian faith will be dearly missed by his family. Jack was "Papa" to 7 grandchildren and affectionately adorned "Great Papa" by 2 great-granddaughters whom he loved dearly and regularly visited with, with 2 more great-grand- daughters on the way.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helene [Marie Prewitt], and children, David and Carol.
