RUBY ACCARDO

Ruby Jean Accardo passed from this life surrounded by her family on February 4, 2008 after a long illness. She was 81. Ruby was born October 2, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the 7th of 8 children.
Ruby moved to Sacramento, California in 1945. In 1951 she reunited with Carl Accardo, a childhood friend from Kansas City who grew up down the street from her. They were married December 7, 1951. In 1960 Ruby and Carl settled down in Napa where they raised five children.
Ruby was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed being a cub scout den mother to Pack 126 with her boys, and was involved in Girl Scouts and was a 4-H sewing leader with her girls. Ruby also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and crafts. She loved to go camping and fishing and enjoyed traveling. After Carl retired they traveled to Yuma, Arizona every winter in their motor home. While in Arizona Ruby learned to make porcelain dolls which she was very proud of. In 1999, Ruby and Carl moved to Fairfield.
Ruby was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Emilie Evensen, and a granddaughter, Jessica Davis.
Ruby is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Carl, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and LeRoy Hunter of Heyburn, Idaho, daughter and son –in-law Tina and Fred Davis of Fernley, Nevada, son and daughter-in-law Carl Jr. and Sharon Accardo of Napa, son and daughter-in-law John and Elizabeth Accardo of Napa, nephew Michael Cline of Ocean Park, Washington, grandchildren Crystal Jost, Jason Hunter, Melissa Harris, Jennifer Jensen, Mandi Ward, Christina Accardo, Carl Accardo III, John Accardo Jr., Brittney Accardo, and great grandchildren Jonathon Jewell, Teddy Jost, Timothy, Jost, Tyler Jost, Katelynn Jensen, Daemun Marshall, Alejandro Rezendez, Madison Harris, Hailey Harris, and Gregory Lopez, also life long friends Junior and Donna Williams of Rodeo.
Friends are invited to Napa Valley Memorial Park, 2383 Napa-Vallejo Highway for visitation and remembrance on Saturday, February 9, from 10 am to 1 pm with services to follow at 1 pm. Reception to follow at the home of Ruby and Carl in Fairfield. Friends and family may sign the online guest book at www.inspirec.com
